GENERAL INFORMATION 
● The LASER IGNITION SUMMER SCHOOL 2017 is organized within HORIZON 2020 - THE FRAMEWORK PROGRAMME FOR RESEARCH AND INNOVATION 2014-2020. It is the first summer school of Workpackage 4 of the European project LASIG-TWIN 691688: LASER IGNITION - A TWINNING COLLABORATION FOR FRONTIER RESEARCH IN ECO-FRIENDLY FUEL-SAVING COMBUSTION (http://www.lasig-twin.eu/; http://ecs.inflpr.ro/Proiect%20LASIG-TWIN%20691688.html). The lecture program will be conducted by the experts within LASIG-TWIN, covering the value chain of the project from fundamental to applied research and applications. A limited number of external experts will be invited to give additional talks. This event will promote the laser ignition research activities at National Institute for Laser, Plasma and Radiation Physics - INFLPR as well as at European partners. It will provides an opportunity for Romanian and international students as well as for Romanian scientists to attend lectures given by experts and to gather with them for the exchange of ideas within their own or even adjacent fields. A social program will be organized to learn about local attractions.

The Summer School is intended mainly for Romanian students audience (Master Students, PhD and PostDoc’s), but it is also opened to European students.
The number of selected attendees will be around 40. The official language of the school is English.

GENERAL RULES 

- The applicant must be a Master student, PhD student or PostDoc working at or enrolled to a national institute from Romania or to a Romanian university. Applications made by foreign students from Europe are  welcome. The number of foreigner students will be limited to 10 (ten).
- The Application Form must be completed and submitted by email to one of the addresses: gabriela.croitoru@inflpr.ro or oana.grigore@inflpr.ro.
A Curriculum Vitae and a Letter of Recommendation are requested with the application. The letter could be provided by the MSc diploma thesis adviser, by the PhD thesis adviser, or by the head of the department where the applicant is enrolled.
- There will be no travel support.
- A registration fee is requested. The registration fee is 25 EUR for Master and PhD students and 40 EUR for PostDoc students.
- A contingent of rooms will be reserved in advance for the summer school. There will be no additional fee for accommodation. As a rule, accommodation will be made in double-room type (two students in a double room). Participants that need to stay in a single room will have to inform in advance the organizing committee. Decision will be made depending also on the room availability. In this case, additional expenses will be supported by the applicant.
- The meals (daily lunch and dinner), the coffee breaks, an official dinner, as well as a social program (visit of Brasov) are supported by the Summer School’s organizer.
- A poster session will be organized during the Summer School. Therefore each participant will be requested to confirm, during registration, her/his participation with a poster. A poster contest will be organized. Diploma will be awarded to the best three posters and a prize could be awarded to the best poster.
- Each attendee will receive a certificate of participation.
